“We are both Deaf and newly engaged! We’ve been trying to have a baby with the help of IUI, but have two failed attempts.
We are unable to continue our IUI due to the virus. Even though we could sign a waiver and continue the process, we knew our doctors would have to be masked and with the shortage of masks, we decided it would be best to wait it out and start again after the whole thing is over. It is devastating, but necessary.
The deaf community here is amazing. We take care of each other because with accessibility (information, news, and announcements) we are always one or two steps behind”.
